| Answers: Does anybody know of a poetry or short story magazine that will pay mon I need to know if I can make money if my poetry or short stories are published in a magazine, hopefully without or a low cost submission fee, does anybody have any websites they can list?Or anything? |
| As far as I know, there are so many websites that are looking or hiring for writers. They actually post whatever kind of writer they would need for a certain project. There are so many opportunities that you can take advantage of. You can go and check out craigslist (dot) com because there are so many job hiring there. | There are a lot of short story publications, both print and online, always looking for new content. Google "freelance writing" and find a job board. Then go to the "fiction" section and usually from there is broken down into further categories with "short stories" being one of them. From there read the submission guidelines from each publication and start sending to the ones that match wha you write. That's short stories but poetry, no clue. |
| I have run into many websites of this kind, though it really also depends on your skill. If you want to become a writer by profession writing poems and short stories, and you have the skill for it, then you should submit your work to publishing companies. If you want to just make some extra money on the side with them, then some journals will buy them from you, or greeting card companies. |
