| How do I go about in getting my short stories published ? I have a story of about 18 thousand words. It is a romance between a young girl and a pilot during the Second World War. They married and had a son. Then came the dreaded knock on the door to tell her that his plane was missing. His cousin took on the role of looking after her and her young son. |
| Hi there! Actually I love to write stories on my own. When I do have a time I spend it writing on my notes some stories. Sometimes it is about my experiences in life. How I wish, someday I will see my stories in a book. When I was in collage, I tried to join in a group of students who makes some stories and published. And I'm thankful that my stories that I made was there. |
| I am asking myself the same thing. How does one's work gets published? Is it like applying for a job that you actually have to approach a publishing company and show your works to the editor. If so then how can you improve your portfolio for a publishing company to accept your works? It would really be of great help if someone who have the experience can share theirs here. |
| Oh that seems to be a good story. I also love to write short stories particularly romantic stories. I am just inspired by the romantic movies I have watched. At times, I find it more interesting if the words are taken from my own experience. If you are thinking of publishing your work, feel free to go to any publishing companies. They can surely help you out with it. |
| That is good. I have to say that I also love to read short stories. Most of the time I am after for some good and inspiring ones. But I think it would be hard for me to actually make my own plot and make my own short stories. I just hope that you can share here some of your originally done short stories. | Hello!I need help. I heard somewhere that it was consider poor writing to write in multiple point of views, which kind of sucks because I think it would fit the story better if I did write in other character's views while the character was still alive. So if it is true, would it be more acceptable to write in third person for the other characters and keep the first character in first? Or should I just write the whole thing in the first character's point of view? Any advice helps. I'm honestly stuck.Thanks everyone.Have a great day. |
